It's alright mate, i think the fact that it's a sticky mean people keep missing it, might just be better to keep it as re-occuring thread next season

Anyway, predictions and teams ladies and gents?

I'd like to see Nando get a full game if he isn't injured. Would be nice to see Lucas get a kick around too.

2 - 0 to us with Nando and The Crow to score.

A good performance, no less, we're up against probably our most difficult pre-season opponents so far, so will be good to see how we measure up. I expect a win, no score predicitions from me.

Pompey have made a few good signings, so it should be a decent test for us. Obviously I want us to win, but I'll be more interested in the perfromances of the new boys and how the team plays as a whole at this stage. After all, the season is just around the corner!

I presume that Torres will be starting, but with who as his strike partner?
Will be interesting to see if the starting 11 gives an idea of Rafa's formation for the Villa game.

                        Reina
                        Finnan
                        Carra
                        Agger
                        JAR
                        Pennant
                        SG
                        Xabi
                        Kewell
                        Torres
                        Kuyt

I reckon that team today would win comfortably.

Rafa said he wil play his strongest team, but it may not give an indication as to the starting 11 against villa, Mascherano is at Melwood training with the kids, Voronin and a few others played for a good length of time on Tuesday in high heat and humidity, so they may not have fully recovered

but will be interesting to see a formation close to our starting 11 for next sason

is the game repeated later on today lads?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                            * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Looking forward to this, if only for the fact that Torres and the other new guys will be up against a Premiership defence.

Can't see it being decided by more than 1 goal though.
